From the waterfront to the forge, Camp Hohn offers a wide range of activities for Scouts of every interest. Here’s what you can experience at LOTOSR.

Aquatics
With 1.5 miles of Lake of the Ozarks shoreline, our waterfront is the centerpiece of camp life. Scouts can earn swimming, lifesaving, and water rescue merit badges, learn to canoe and kayak, or master sailing through our Sail Master program. The swimming area is supervised by certified lifeguards and BSA Aquatics Instructors.

Climbing & COPE
Challenge yourself on our climbing tower and COPE (Challenging Outdoor Physical Encounter) course. The COPE program, established in the 1980s, features high ropes elements designed to build confidence, teamwork, and leadership. Our climbing wall and tower offer routes for beginners through advanced climbers.

Range & Target Activities
Our shooting sports program includes rifle, shotgun, and archery ranges staffed by NRA-certified instructors. Scouts learn firearm safety, marksmanship fundamentals, and responsible sportsmanship. All equipment is provided — just bring your enthusiasm.

Outdoor Skills & Scoutcraft
Get back to the fundamentals of Scouting with outdoor skills instruction. Scouts learn fire building, knot tying, orienteering, wilderness survival, pioneering, and camp cooking. Our patrol-method camping program means Scouts practice these skills every day as they prepare meals and manage their campsites.

Hiking
The Kit Carson Trail winds through the reservation’s 450 acres of forested terrain, offering miles of hiking with scenic overlooks of the Lake of the Ozarks. The Osage Lookout provides a stunning clifftop view. Scouts can work on the Hiking merit badge or simply explore the natural beauty of the Ozarks.

Nature & Ecology
Explore the diverse ecosystems of the Ozarks through our nature and ecology programs. From bird identification to soil and water conservation, Scouts learn to observe, understand, and protect the natural world. Programs take place at the Ecology area and throughout the reservation’s forests, shores, and trails.

Blacksmithing & Metalworking
One of LOTOSR’s most unique offerings, our Metalworking Building features six forges, a power hammer, knife sanders, and welding equipment. Scouts learn traditional blacksmithing techniques alongside modern metalworking skills. It’s one of the most popular programs at camp.

Invention Lab & STEM
The Sinquefield Invention Campus brings cutting-edge technology to the Ozarks. Scouts use 3D printers, laser engravers, CNC routers, and more to design and build real projects. From robotics to game design, the Invention Lab offers merit badges and programs you won’t find at most camps.
